X-Rite i1Profiler

iSis with barcode identification

Instruments driving software: i1 Profiler

1. Launch i1 Profiler, switch to Advanced Mode and select CMYK Printer Profiling

2. Select or upload desired Patch Set  (.pxf file) to the i1Profiler default directory. Use right mouse button to
find the folder on your computer. (Show in Finder)

Drag Patch Set on the first icon in Printer Profiling Workflow:

3. Press Test Chart icon in Printer Profiling Workflow, select iSis XL, enable barcode support,
next adjust patch layout parameters according to your page size requirements.
For example VI-816 test for can be printed on a single page with different dimensions:

or any custom size...

4. Save Page Data - use a unique name which will be easy recognized by operator and ChromaChecker system.
We strongly recommend designing own naming convention.
This name will be printed on the Test Chart as both text (on the top - above the black bar) and barcode
     (below black bar).
It is important to store test Chart definition in i1 Profiler default folder!
You may check the location by clicking the right mouse button on any existing Test Chart in Assets
     - standard folder:

      / Application Support / X-Rite / i1Profiler / ColorSpaceCMYK / TestCharts

5. Print or Save Test Chart

On this example, the test chart has a Vi-816 layout and has a unique name:  VI-816_Press-029_Coated150

Each output device to be tracked requires a specific "track configuration" using a unique name and or barcode.
Using the Save function, each unique Test Chart (for each device condition) can be created.

All created targets will be shown in the list under Assets in I1Profiler:

In this example, eight different Test Charts based on VI-816 are listed for eight different press conditions (press and substrate combinations) defined as tracks in the ChromaChecker system.

6. Check if the system works correctly: Choose Measurement icon in Printer Profiling Workflow, next insert
printed Test Chart into iSis and select measure button.

Be sure that: Use barcode to identify test chart check box is selected!

7. When the scan is complete save measurements as CxF file!

This is the only file format that supports barcode information!

8. Name and Save current workflow to get easier access for the future use.

9. Go to Track Preferences on ChromaChecker™ website and set proper configuration – a unique string
dedicated to the auto-recognition (make sure to carefully copy all characters):

10. Setup ChromaChecker™ DataCollector to upload data automatically.

The Operator may use the same default name as DataCollector may modify file name by adding custom prefix and time stamp. Also, a local copy can be created (Local Output Folder).
