IoT Bridge — Security Note

This note describes what the IoT Bridge Plugin sends and to where. It is not a separate agreement: the Plugin is covered by the ChromaChecker End-User License Agreement (the "EULA"). It is published because the Plugin talks to a message broker that you choose, which may be on another machine.

1. What this Plugin does

IoT Bridge connects WiFi and Zigbee sensors — temperature and humidity sensors, signal towers — to CC Capture through an MQTT broker. Readings arrive as messages and become environment values inside the application.

2. Where it connects

The default keeps everything on the workstation. Any other setting does not. If you point the Plugin at a broker on another machine, sensor readings, topic names and the workstation's client identifier travel to that broker over your network, and whoever administers it can read them. If you point it at a broker outside your premises, they leave your premises.

The connection uses the credentials and transport security your broker requires. ChromaChecker does not operate a broker for you and does not receive these messages.

3. What is stored

The broker address, port and your connection settings are stored in the workstation's application settings. Measurements taken from sensor readings are stored with the job they belong to, the same as any other measurement.

4. No third-party processors

ChromaChecker introduces no third party here. The broker is yours, or your supplier's, and its terms are between you and them.

Changes to this document

This document is versioned. A new version replaces this text at the same address, and the version you accepted is recorded by the application. Every earlier version is kept in the revision history below, so the text your Organisation agreed to can always be produced.
