Color Manufacturing

Learn by self-experience

The fastest way to learn how ChromaChecker can help Color Manufacture is to test QuikChecker.

or more theoretical...

If you are manufacturing paints and plastics, you probably need to work mainly with D65 and both 2 and 10° Observers. That determines what you should use as the main tool Color Inspector.

Color Inspector

Depending on an object that you need to measure - its uniformity, glossiness, and surface effects you may use any geometry or aperture Instruments that CC Capture currently supports.

Substrate Inspector

Additionally, it is probably interesting to learn more about Substrate Inspector. This tool can create multi M-Condition Libraries and has a tracking feature. It is primarily designed for Print Industry, however

Lighting Inspector

This tool is very important as helps to control Lighting Conditions for production purposes, QC, and for exposing goods to end-users. Additionally, custom Lighting Conditions can be captured for color samples evaluation

Display Inspector

Whenever an important part of the work requires displays, it is a tool that makes it possible. The important feature is the ability to synchronize Displays remotely in the entire organization, making teamwork predictive.

It is important to know the measurement's goal - is it just a simple color difference expressed with the ∆E formula? Some phenomena (e. g. metamerism. fluorescence) may have a large impact on both color perception by humans and numbers delivered by the Instrument - We strongly advise detecting and quantify them using CC QuickChecker. The decision on which parameter has to be measured is critical.

Note:

You may be interested in some solutions developed especially for Print Industry that offer automatization for QC Tracking. A good example is the Virtual Control Strip supported by X-Rite i1iO, but also available for Barbieri LFP, where series of points are measured from the sheet in a predefined order.
