General information about matrices and backlights

For correct calibration, profiling, and validation results you need to select the correct calibration matrix for your monitor. Monitor technologies differ in their spectral properties and colorimeters need different correction matrices for different monitor technologies. These are named differently in those instruments, and monitor manufacturers do not always communicate all the information you need in order to make an educated guess.

Backlight is a source of the light of the LCD display panels. The type of backlight determines the image quality and the color. space of the display.
