Virtual Colorimeter
Any measurement device like a colorimeter if colorimetrical data is available (L*a*b* D50/2°) can be tracked by Instrument Inspector.
CGATS .txt file with sample data (red color) for ChromaChecker Instrument Inspector Target I-42 (additional start KCMY patches are skipped)
Measurement patches order: —> start from [1] Black, next [2] Yellow ... up to last [42] Green.
Procedure
- Measure patches in proper order
- Write down or export in possible L*a*b* measurements for each 42 patches
- Replace values in the sample file below
- Save it in a text file (.txt)
- Upload to Instrument Inspector

Other Targets
Create a corresponding Target CGATS file.
CMYK reference values have to be exactly as specified for a specific Target (second decimal place)
Tips
Some software that drives Instruments may build a Job Template using a list of patches - in most cases,
a CGATS file can be uploaded.
If your software can manage metadata:
PRESS_NAME "auto-recognition"
PAPER_NAME "auto-recognition"
you may use it for the auto-recognition feature. Files uploaded by Uploader will be auto-recognized. This requires a corresponding auto-recognition setting on Instrument/Target side.
