ChromaSpot Library exported to X-Rite eXact

Both the X-Rite eXact and eXact 2 instruments are compatible with the ChromaSpot Library

ChromaSpot can be exported as a CxF file formatted for X-Rite eXact compatibility and can easily be imported into X-Rite eXact or eXact 2 internal memory.

The eXact 2 software ready to import ChromaSpot CxF and synchronize with the instrument in seconds.

When ChromaSpot is selected as a reference source, all measurements can be automatically compared to the closest ChromaSpot Sample.

To test, download the compatible ChromaSpot.cxf file (please note that it doesn't contain plain English names).

Is eXact in line with X-Rite i1Pro 3 (native for ChromaSpot)?

Generally - yes, for the most part; however, due to different apertures, slight differences in geometry, and light source make this match very good for uniform objects with matt surfaces. Do not expect the same results for objects not recommended for such geometry. Some objects have to be measured using D/8° spherical instruments.

In the following example, the same color sample has been measured with both an i1 Pro3 and an eXact 2, and compared to the same color in the ChromaSpot library.

And X-Rite eXact 2 compared to the same color in the ChromaSpot library.

And the difference for this sample for both instruments is 2.2 ∆E. It is virtually the same difference when the same sample is measured with both instruments. Expect worse results when using older versions of i1Pro (1 or 2); we strongly recommend a hardware upgrade to the i1Pro3.

In this random test:

   Exact 2 i1 Pro3
L* 35.43 35.23
a* 35.81 36.58
b* -2.69 -2.43
∆E 00 0.3759
