Projects Deployment for ColorBeat using Substrate Names
Color Quality Control measurement results can be shared automatically using ChromaChecker Projects and ColorBeat This is enabled by mapping a Standard JSON definition or Substrate Workflow definition in the HP Press Controller.
How to Share a Project for HP ColorBeat using Substrate Names
Purpose
This procedure explains how a Print Buyer can share a ChromaChecker Project with a Print Service Provider (PSP), configure HP ColorBeat, and enable color measurement reporting.
Step 1: Create the Project on the ChromaChecker Print Buyer Account
-
Log in to the Print Buyer account in ChromaChecker.
-
Create a new Project.
-
Define the template and define the project specifications, target conditions, and other required settings.
- Add any additional notes
Step 2: Invite the Print Service Provider
-
Open the project.
-
Invite the Print Service Provider (PSP) responsible for producing the work.
-
The PSP receives the invitation and joins the shared project.
Step 3: Deploy the Project to the Press
-
The PSP opens the shared project in their ChromaChecker account.
-
Deploy the project within the PSP's environment.
-
Assign the project to the HP Indigo press that will produce the work.
Reporting can use ColorBeat or an external measurement device with ChromaChecker Capture
Step 4: Configure HP ColorBeat
-
Refer to full configuration instructions in the ChromaChecker Manual: https://chromachecker.com/manuals/en/show/hp_colorbeat
-
Using the Device Wizard, enter the HP Printer name and serial number in Print Inspector
-
Select HP ColorBeat as the measurement source.
-
Select HP ColorBeat from the pulldown menu and enter the secret and key.
Step 5: Assign the Substrate Name to the Project
-
Locate the substrate name used by the production press.
-
Select or enter that substrate name in the project's ColorBeat configuration, as supported by the integration.
-
Assign the substrate to the appropriate ChromaChecker project. Enter the substrate name exactly as it appears in the HP Indigo Press Controller.
This mapping connects the substrate information reported by ColorBeat to the appropriate project and its color specifications. Important: Use the actual substrate name from the Press Controller. Do not assume that a similarly named substrate in PrintOS or a workflow template is the same definition.
Step 6: Automatic Color Measurement Reporting
Once the project, press assignment, and substrate mapping are configured correctly, ColorBeat measurements can be reported without additional operator intervention, provided the substrate and required integration and reporting settings are enabled.
Paid Full Production Subscriptions: Eligible paid subscriptions provide options to manage reporting data.
