Snowflake Tolerance Benefits:

  1. Provides the brand with a metric that will meet their visual expectations every time,
The same ∆E results in visual differences, Snowflake eliminates these differences

  2. Provides printer with more production tolerances to create the brand's color
Eliminates false fails (color looks correct, but fails ∆E) which allows printers to be more profitable in their work to meet the brand's expectations

How to implement Snowflake

  1. Create a color reference in your Color Library or Palette. You may measure physical sample or enter Lab coordinates
  2. Create Snowflake PDF
  3. Display it on calibrated monitor  - use Display Inspector to calibrate and profile it.
  4. Adjust steps according to visual judgment
  5. Print Snowflake on your calibrated proofer (high precision is required)
  6. Judge values on the print
  7. Save Snowflake tolerance to the Reference in your Color Library

Now you can use it in your QC tasks.
